Enterprise Professor, The University of Melbourne

Professor Robert Vertessy is an Enterprise Professor (Water Resources) in the School of Engineering at the University of Melbourne, undertaking research on water security and climate change. He is also the principal of his consulting firm Global Change Advisory, providing strategic advice and capacity development in the use of environmental intelligence for managing water scarcity under changing climate conditions. He served as the Director and CEO of the Bureau of Meteorology (2011-2016), Chief of CSIRO Land and Water (2004-2007) and Director of the CRC for Catchment Hydrology (2002-2004).
