Robert W. Snyder

Professor Emeritus of Journalism and American Studies, Rutgers University - Newark

Robert W. Snyder, professor emeritus of American Studies and Journalism at Rutgers University-Newark and Manhattan Borough Historian, writes and speaks widely to share history with the public. He is most recently co-author of "All the Nations Under Heaven: Immigrants, Migrants and the Making of New York" and author of "Crossing Broadway: Washington Heights and the Promise of New York City." His essays and reviews have appeared in the "Journal of Urban History," "The New York Times," "The Daily News," and the "Washington Post." He is a former Fulbright lecturer in American Studies in Korea, a member of the New York Academy History, and a Manhattan resident. Snyder holds a Ph.D. in American history from New York University.
