Bob’s research publications on leadership, problem solving, learning and motivation are widely cited and have earned him several awards, including recognition as Fellow of esteemed academic societies including the AGSM inaugural award for sustained excellence in research. His recent book on problem solving, ‘Managerial Problem Solving' has been widely adopted by students and practitioners.

Bob’s prior appointments include Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Western Australia and visiting Professor at the Kellogg School, Northwestern University. Bob is former Editor of Applied Psychology an International Review and a member of the Academy of Social Sciences – Australia Executive Committee. He was a member of the Prime Minister’s Science, Engineering and Innovation Council’s Expert Working Group established to study and propose policies for the Transformation of Learning and the Transmission of Knowledge in Australian society.

Bob has designed, delivered and managed a number of successful leadership programs for Australian and global corporations. He was Consultant to OECD (Paris) from 1990 to 1996 and advisor to the Hong Kong government from 1992 to 1998.
