After completing her Undergraduate degree and realising she was more interested in sport than art history, Roslyn completed her Masters degree in sport history before undertaking her PhD in sociology of sport. During and after completing her PhD, she was employed as a contract lecturer teaching sociology of sport and sociology of technology at the University of Canterbury. She was appointed to Lincoln University in 2012. Though primarily a sociologist, she also publishes in sport history, leisure studies and sport management. A former gymnast, coach and administrator, much of Roslyn’s research has focused on the sport of gymnastics and she collaborates widely with other international gymnastics researchers
