Sserved on a number of boards and advisory committees including as President and Board member of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA); board member Unilinc (2005- 2011); member of library university course advisory committees including Edith Cowan University, Charles Sturt University, University of Canberra, chairs the ALIA Public Sector Information Advisory Committee and is a member of the federal government Information Advisory Committee.

Awards including the Distinguished Alumni Award, University of Canberra; Chief’s Award, CSIRO Division of Wildlife and Ecology, Doreen Goodwin Award of the University of Canberra, Library and Information Studies Program, Australian Library and Information Association ACT Merit Award and Australian Library and Information Association New Graduates Coaches Gold Medal. Finalist in the ACT Telstra Business Women of the Year.

Published over 170 articles, book chapters, conference papers.
