PhD Student, Social Sciences, University of Dundee

Ruth is a PhD student in Human Geography at the University of Dundee, looking at 'Inequalities of Bereavement - Social, Spatial and Spend'. She previously worked as a researcher in the School of Business at the University of Dundee, researching funeral poverty in Dundee. She has worked in the private sector as an economic consultant specialising in evaluation and research for town planning and engineering companies, and she has also taught Spatial Analysis at the University of Dundee. She has a Masters in Economics from University College, London, and a distinction in the Masters in Spatial Planning with Sustainable Urban Design from the University of Dundee. She has a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. She has published with her Spatial Planning supervisors: Al Waer, H., Bickerton, R., Kirk, D. 2014 'Examining the components required for assessing the sustainability of communities in the UK'.
