Senior Research Officer, University of Essex

Sabrina Rau is a Senior Research Officer in the The Human Rights, Big Data and Technology Project since April 2018 where her work is focused primarily on business regulation and human rights in the digital age. She holds a BA from the University of Toronto in political science and environmental studies and an LLM in international human rights and humanitarian Law from the University of Essex. Sabrina previously worked in the Justice and Corrections Service (JCS) at the UN in New York where she worked on the creation of the Special Criminal Court in the Central African Republic. Prior to this she was a research associate at the International Centre for Human Rights and Drug Policy (HRDP) housed at the University of Essex, and worked with the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in the Philippines in the Sector Network for Natural Resources and Rural Development (SNRD Asia).
