Sahawal Alidou

My research explores various determinants of human capital accumulation and decision making in SSA. I am particularly interested in how beliefs and social norms (which often dictate behavior at the community level) influence hhousehold's decisions regarding education, health and intra household resource allocation. My other research interests relate to gender economics, international economics and structural transformation of African economies.
