Saif Shahin

I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication and a Faculty Affiliate with the Antiracist Research and Policy Center at the American University in Washington, DC. My research looks at data and technology as sociocultural phenomena, power in digital social networks, and the politics of race and identity online. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including New Media & Society; Information, Communication & Society; Social Science Computer Review; American Behavioral Scientist; The International Journal of Press/Politics; and Communication Methods & Measures. I previously worked as a journalist in India, Middle East, England, and the United States.
