Assistant Professor of Kinesiology, Health, and Nutrition, The University of Texas at San Antonio

Dr. Saki Oyama is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Health, and Nutrition. She collaborates with investigators within and outside of UTSA, and mentors students from UTSA and University of Texas Health Science center. She is a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer, and the Director of the Applied Biomechanics Research Laboratory.

Dr. Oyama recieved her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science (concentration in Athletic Training) from the Oregon State University. After earning her degree, she became a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer. While working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for 2 years, she earned her Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh. She started working at UTSA in 2012 after receiving a Doctorate degree in Human Movement Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
