Sally I. McClean received a M.A. degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford, UK, a M.Sc. degree in Mathematical Statistics and Operational Research from Cardiff University, UK, and a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Ulster University, UK. After finishing her Ph.D. degree, she joined Ulster University, where she is currently Professor of Mathematics and the Leader of the Information and Communications Engineering Research Group. She has more than 300 publications in Mathematical Modelling, Applied Probability, Multivariate Statistical Analysis, and applications of Mathematical and Statistical methods to Computer Science. Prof. McClean is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and the Operational Research Society and is an Associate Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. In addition, she is the previous President of the Irish Statistical Association.
