Dr Saltanat Janenova works at the International Development Department as a Teaching Fellow in Public Policy and Management. Saltanat received a PhD degree in Social Policy from the University of Edinburgh and MA degree in Sociology from the University of Durham. She has worked at the Graduate School of Public Policy, Nazarbayev University (Kazakhstan), as the Assistant Professor.
Dr.Janenova's research interests are concerned with public sector reforms in Central Asia, including authoritarianism, patronage, corruption, open government, and public service innovations. Saltanat published in reputable journals (Review of Public Personnel Administration; International Review of Administrative Sciences; Public Administration and Development; International Journal of Public Sector Management; International Review of Public Policy; Central Asian Survey). In 2020 'A Primer on Policy Communication in Kazakhstan' co-authored by Saltanat has been published. Saltanat has extensive consulting experience at the OECD, UNDP, and EU.
