My work is about finding, building, and testing creative methods, academically and entrepreneurially, that can leverage the immense power of play to facilitate development in health and education.
My PhD focuses on the intersection of psychology, video games, and public health. It seems active video games, and technology more generally, have untapped potential for positive behaviour change. My research is about moulding that potential, so we can all move more and play more. Blurring the line between the physical and virtual worlds, and testing whether such a blur is effective. Creating a new field that sits on the intersect between psychology, video games, strength and conditioning, public health, and technology.
Esports are another key interest, thus, broadly, my work aims to stretch the boundaries of the field of video games in sport and exercise.
