Bio
Dr. Sandor Demeter, BSc, MSc, MHSc, MHP, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Sandor Demeter is dually Canadian Royal College certified in Nuclear Medicine and Public Health. He has an MHSc in Community Health and Epidemiology (1993 - U of T), an MSc (2004 - U of A) and most recently a Master of Science in Health Physics (2016) from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Sandor’s career includes a decade working in public health and more than two decades in clinical nuclear medicine. He has held a number of senior medical and academic administrative positions.
Sandor is an Associate Professor at the U of M College of Medicine and has an adjunct appointment in the Department of Physics at the U of W. He is a Commission member with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) term ending March, 2023, a former committee member with the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) and sits as a member of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) Health Technology Expert Review Panel. Sandor’s main research interests include the health policy and economics as well as health technology assessment.
