Dr Sandy Houen is a research fellow at the University of Queensland. Her frontline experience as an early childhood teacher informed her transition to academic research. Sandy’s expertise is in qualitative research approaches, such as conversation analysis, with a key focus on educator-child interactions, how interactions are accomplished in classrooms, and how they impact on early childhood education quality. She has a special interest in the translation of research findings to inform educator practice.
