Professor Sara McGaughey holds a PhD (Management), MBA(International Business) and BA(Japanese Studies). Sara's research interests include corporate entrepreneurship in multinational enterprises and international new venturing (e.g. 'born globals'); knowledge spillovers through foreign direct investment; subsidiary-headquarter relations and global value chain coordination; and how individuals and organsations create entrepreneurial opportunity by shaping institutions. Sara McGaughey has worked in small business in Japan and Mexico, and has held academic appointments in Australia (UNSW, Monash and Griffith University), Denmark (Copenhagen Business School) and the U.K. (Leeds and Strathclyde Universities).
