Sarah Johnsen's research focusses on homelessness (rough sleeping, youth homelessness, family homelessness, ‘single’ (non-statutory) homelessness, ex-service homelessness, homeless children); street culture (begging, street drinking, street-based sex work); the role of faith-based organisations in welfare provision; and social research methods and the ethics of research involving vulnerable people.
