I have a creative writing & visual arts PhD examining family diversity in children's literature and its connection to child welfare. I currently teach children's literature and creative writing at Victoria University.
I was a Top Ten finalist in the 2018 and 2021 Three Minute Thesis Asia-Pacific finals, and I have presented my research both locally and internationally. I have been a guest speaker for the National Centre of Australian Children’s Literature, the Australian School Library Association and Care Experience and Culture. I have published several articles and chapters on my PhD research, as well as on the topics of environmentalism and early childhood trauma in children’s literature.
