Senior Teaching Fellow and Lecturer in East Asian Business, SOAS, University of London

Sarah is a Senior Teaching Fellow within the School of Finance and Management and is Programme Convenor for the BSc course in International Management (Japan and Korea).

She lectures on BSc modules ‘Contemporary Issues in the Japanese and Korean Economies’ and 'Finance in Japan & Korea' and on the MSc module ‘Working with Chinese Firms.’ Sarah also runs her own consultancy business East West Interface, facilitating high-level cross-border communications within business and brings many elements of this business experience to these modules with real-life case studies from her work with a variety of SMEs, MNEs and Government organisations doing business between East and West.

Her area of research is ‘Gender in International business’ with a specific focus on the gender roles in Japan and is currently writing a book chapter: ‘Reimagining the gender roles within Japan to achieve sustainability.’

She has also appeared on many media outlets such as the BBC World Service and CNBC talking about cross-cultural business communications.
