Sarah R. Olutola

Postdoctoral Fellow 2018-2019, Human Rights Research and Education Centre, L’Université d’Ottawa/University of Ottawa

Dr. Sarah Olutola is a graduate of the department of English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University. She is also the 2018-2019 Gordon F. Henderson Postdoctoral Fellow and ongoing member of Ottawa University’s Human Rights Research and Education Centre. Her current research concerns youth culture, representations of race in popular media culture, postcolonialism and global capitalism.

Working, at times, as a sessional instructor in McMaster University’s department of English and Cultural Studies, she has edited special issues and published articles in peer-reviewed journals such Safundi, Popular Music and Society, and Atlantis: Critical Studies in Gender, Culture and Social Justice. As an emerging Canadian fiction writer, she also continues to write and publish novel-length children’s fiction for independent and trade publishing houses for a global market.
