Lecturer in Imperial and Postcolonial History, University of York

After studying a BA (Hons) in History and French followed by an MA in Cultural History, I obtained my PhD from the University of Manchester in 2015. I specialise in the history of the ends of empires and in contemporary French cultural history. I wrote my doctoral thesis about the complex identity politics at play in the multicultural South American French region of Guyane (French Guiana) since its full integration into the French Republic in 1946.
