Scott Newsome is a Lecturer in the Department of Politics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. His primary research interests are in the fields of American politics, public policy, and political history with a particular emphasis on Congress, the president, and economic policy. His current research project examines the politics of economic policymaking in Congress during recessions in the post war era.
