I study historical and current day changes to ecosystems to anticipate our future.

My current focus is on ocean acidification and warming, particularly how they combine with local pollution to drive ecosystem loss and how we can regenerate through restoration.

After leading some influential publications with large teams of authors, I have become interested in the elements of writing that enable some publications to sway greater influence and the ethics of co-authorship.
