Assistant Professor of International Law and International Relations, The University of Western Australia

Sean Richmond is a Canadian lawyer and an Assistant Professor at the University of Western Australia where he researches and teaches in the areas of international law and international relations. Prior to joining UWA, Sean was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto. He completed his doctoral studies at Oxford University under a Commonwealth Scholarship and a Doctoral Fellowship from Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Sean also holds a BA (Hon.) from Queen’s University, an MA from the University of British Columbia, and an LLB from the University of Ottawa. In addition to academic experience, Sean has worked in the Legal Bureau of Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs, and articled with a leading Canadian labour law firm. He was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in Ontario in 2009.
