Dr Shampa Roy-Mukherjee is a senior lecturer in macroeconomics and applied econometrics at the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London. She is the programme leader for the MSc. International Business Management programme and is responsible for the strategic management of the programme. Shampa is the REF co-ordinator for the UoA- Business for REF2021 and has been instrumental in developing the school’s research strategy. She is also a member of School Learning and Teaching Quality Committee within the school and an active member of the STAMP (Centre for the Study of States, Markets and People). Research Centre. Her other duties include liaising with external stakeholders such as professional bodies and international academic institutions to explore synergies and promote partnerships.
Prior to her role as senior lecturer, Shampa was the Head of Subject for the Finance, Economics & Risk subject area at the Royal Docks School of Business & Law for nearly 5 years (2012-2017) and she has extensive senior management experience.
Shampa received a PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham and subsequently joined the American University in Cairo as an Assistant Professor. Her duties there included teaching in the areas of macroeconomics, econometrics and development economics. She joined the University of East London in February 2007 as a lecturer in economics. Her research interests are in the areas of macro and monetary economics, development economics and applied econometrics. Shampa is a member of the Royal Economic Society and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
