Shelina Visram

My research interests lie within the fields of public health and health promotion and include health inequalities, community empowerment, asset-based approaches, complex interventions and lay roles in public health, particularly health trainers. Prior to my role at Newcastle University, I was an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Health (promotion from lecturer in 2016), at Durham University, 2013-2017, a Lecturer in Public Health Research, at Fuse and Northumbria University, 2012-2013
and before this a Postgraduate Research Associate, Northumbria University, 2006-2012.
