Postdoctoral Physical Oceanography, British Antarctic Survey

Shenjie Zhou is trained as a physical oceanographer, understanding the role of ocean circulation in the climate system.

Shenjie Zhou has been a postdoctoral Physical Oceanographer at British Antarctic Survey since 2020. Before, he completed his PhD research in University of East Anglia in 2020, working on understanding the dynamic response of Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation to the changing atmosphere.

Shenjie's work focuses on understanding the ocean circulation response to the atmospheric forcing at various spatio-temporal scales and how the ocean circulation evolves and modulates the climate. His recent work is about understanding the multi-decadal changes of the Antarctic Bottom Water export in the Weddell Sea, Antarctica.
