ERDF Knowledge Exchange Fellow, University of Birmingham

Dr. Shivangi Sharma is a post-doctoral research fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering, a part of Birmingham Centre for Energy Storage, and working with an EU funded project called ATETA; Accelerating Thermal Energy Technology Adoption. She works on supporting SMEs in the GBS LEP area to address the technical challenges related to energy use, thereby promoting innovation and their business growth.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of Edinburgh followed by a PhD in solar energy and phase change materials from the University of Exeter. Shivangi has published her research outcomes in various international journals and conference papers.

She is a reviewer for the following journals: Solar energy, Energy Conversion & Mgmt., Environmental Engineering & Mgmt., Applied Thermal Engineering. Language Editor for De Gruyter Open Engineering Journal

She has been a campaigner on the United Nation’s UNAIDS and UNICEF campaigns for programs focussed on education, health and hygiene in underprivileged communities, and the clean river campaigns in India, as well as a community volunteer for Atlantic Community Energy (Devon), and Transition Edinburgh projects.
