Shuyun May Li received a BSc in Applied Mathematics from Renmin University of China in 1994, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in August 2005.

She joined the Department of Economics in September 2005. Her research interests are in Macroeconomics, monetary economics and public finance.
