Dr Sian Oram is a Lecturer in Women’s Mental Health at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, UK. Dr Oram has several years’ experience of conducting research on human trafficking, and has a particular interest in health risks and outcomes experienced by trafficked people and in public policy and healthcare responses to the needs of people experiencing violence and abuse. She has published several academic papers and book chapters in this area, and regularly presents the findings of her research at international and national academic meetings. She holds a PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Prior to this she received an MSc in Reproductive and Sexual Health Research from LSHTM and studied BA Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
