Simmone Howell is a writer, sometime teacher and PhD candidate at La Trobe University (researching life-writing, cultural objects and the teenage experience.) She writes YA fiction and non-fiction about memory, films. pop culture, dreams and dream-houses and all the ways to map the self.
Her YA books include Girl Defective and the CBCA award-winning collaborative novel Take Three Girls with Fiona Wood and Cath Crowley. Her work-in-progress is a coming-of-age memoir about her Gen X girlhood, pop culture role models, teenage delusion, suburban rebellion and how we make ourselves up.
