Simon Buckingham Shum

Professor of Learning Infomatics, University of Technology Sydney

Simon Buckingham Shum is Professor of Learning Informatics at the University of Technology Sydney. He is Director of the Connected Intelligence Centre, an applied innovation centre focusing on advancing the use of analytics tools in UTS. He brings a human-centred computing perspective on technology, and has been active in founding the field of Learning Analytics — the intersection of Data Science/AI with Education. He is a former Vice-President of the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR), and Program Co-Chair of the International Conference on Learning Analytics & Knowledge (Sydney, March 2018).
