Lecturer in Creative Writing, University of Bolton

I have published work in various genres and media, under many different names: in addition to writing short and long fiction, poetry and criticism I have also written a short play, a screenplay and co-written two sitcoms.

My doctoral thesis was an intertextual examination of the role of the reader within the writer, and I continue to conduct research into the processes of textual composition, specifically the actions of authors as they work.

I am also the conference coordinator for Great Writing: The International Creative Writing Conference. Currently held in London, the conference attracts practitioners and academics from around the world who are keen to explore the actions and products of Creative Writing – see http://www.greatwriting.org.uk/ for more details.
