Reader (Physics and Astronomy), University of Sussex

Simon completed his PhD at the University of Amsterdam in 2003, with his thesis based on the (at that time, yet to be built) ATLAS detector at the LHC and a study on using it for possible searches for the Higgs particle. He then moved to the University of Oxford to work on the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (the experiment for which Art McDonald won the physics Nobel Prize in 2015). In 2007, he joined the University of Sussex. His research has continued to focus on neutrino physics since then.
