Sirui is an educational and developmental psychologist studying why people pursue specific educational trajectories and career paths.

He is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned his Ph.D. from the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. He holds a BS in engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, an MS in developmental and educational psychology from Beijing Normal University, and an MA in education from UC Irvine.
