Stanley Blue is a Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Manchester. He teaches courses on the Sociology of Consumption and on Media, Culture and Society.

He completed his doctoral studies at Lancaster University, which examined the scheduling of practices in everyday life. His research explores how the patterning of practices in daily life impacts on population health and on environmental sustainability.

His latest publication was: Blue, Shove, Carmona, and Kelly. (2014). ‘Theories of Practice and Public Health: Understanding (Un) Healthy Practices’, Critical Public Health.
