Stefan Hansson

I am an obstetrician specialised in preeclampsia (PE). I gained my expertise working as research Professor and Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology with focus on high-risk pregnancies at Skåne University Hospital (Malmö/Lund, Sweden). I am passionate about understanding this debilitating disease and developing diagnostic and therapeutic tools to improve the health of millions of women and infants worldwide. In my dual roles I am able to provide women afflicted with PE high-quality care, and to conduct cutting-edge translational research from the molecular mechanisms of PE, to now use these insights to develop predictive and diagnostic biomarkers for PE and the world’s first candidate therapy for PE.
