Stefan Söldner-Rembold

Stefan Söldner-Rembold is currently Head of the Particle Physics Group at the University of Manchester. In 2013, he received a five-year Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award.

He is a member of the DUNE Collaboration which has the goal to discover CP violation in neutrino interactions using liquid-argon detectors, as well as the SBND/MicroBooNE Collaborations, leading the international consortium building the Anode Planes for the Time Projection Chamber. He is also founding member of the IceCube-GEN2 Collaboration with the goal to build the PINGU array at the South Pole.

He served as Spokesperson of the DØ Experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron from 2009 to 2011, after having been DØ Physics Coordinator for two years. His main research interest on DØ was the search for Higgs bosons.

He also works on the NEMO-3 and SuperNEMO Collaborations searching for neutrinoless double-beta decay and has been responsible for building the SuperNEMO tracking detector. He also chairs the SuperNEMO Institutional Board.

He currently serves on the HEPAP advisory panel and is a Fellow of the IoP and the APS. He was a member of STFC’s Particle Physics Grants Panel from 2005 until 2009 and has been a member of several grant review panels of the US DOE since 2009.

From 1999 until 2003, he was a DFG Heisenberg Fellow working at Fermilab (2001-2003), and as CERN Scientific Associate and OPAL Physics Coordinator at CERN (2000-2001). From 1992 until 1999, he worked at Freiburg University, first on the ZEUS Experiment at DESY and then on the OPAL Experiment at CERN.

He has co-authored over 700 publications.
