Stefania Soldini

Dr Stefania Soldini, Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering, in the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering, University of Liverpool, UK since 2019 and UKRI FL Fellow since 2022 with project title "REMORA - REndezvous Mission for Orbital Reconstruction of Asteroids: a fleet of self-driven CubeSats for tracking and characterising asteroids". She is a member of three asteroid missions (ESA’s HERA, NASA’s DART and JAXA’s Hayabusa2). Dr Soldini is PI of CEII/Network+ EPSRC grant on “3D-printed Morphing Origami Solar Sail CubeSat” (Ref: EP/S036113/1) in partnership with JAXA and Oxford Space Systems since 2020. She was previously the PI of the Hayabusa2’s solar conjunction phase and was awarded a JSPS Research Fellows in JAXA (2017). She has contributed to the JAXA’s OKEANOS solar sail experiment. She gained her PhD at the University of Southampton on solar sail mission design in 2016. Her expertise lies in the field of numerical simulations for spacecraft mission design and guidance, navigation & control, asteroid, solar sail missions and additive manufacturing.
