Stephan Ntie is the Scientific Advisor to the Executive Secretary of the Gabon's national protected area agency (Agence Nationale des Parcs Nationaux - ANPN), while also being a Professor in the Department of Biology at "Université des Sciences et Techniques de Masuku" (USTM), the only national public university in Sciences and Technologies located in Franceville, Southeastern Gabon. His area of expertise focuses primarily on Conservation Biology, Population Genetics, and Tropical Ecology of Forest Mammals. One of his common approaches is to use Non-Invasive Genetics for species identification and the assessment of the conservation status of wild populations. As Scientific Advisor, his main responsibility is to lead and coordinate research projects within ANPN, as well as to provide scientific and technical support to the agency's partners. Indeed, the results of all ongoing projects within protected areas play an essential role in guiding the missions of rangers in the field, aimed at improving the protection and management of biodiversity within all protected areas of Gabon.
