Stephanie Avery-Gomm

PhD candidate, School of Biological Sciences, The University of Queensland

Stephanie’s research focuses on marine and freshwater ecosystems, with an emphasis on species at risk, seabirds, plastic pollution and using decision science to improve conservation outcomes. Recent projects have helped to understand the drivers of plastic ingestion in seabirds, to prioritize research efforts on a global scale, to develop decision support tools that improve the efficiency of endangered species recovery programs and clarify when openly publishing biodiversity data does more harm than good, and to track the trajectory of threatened species.
