Stephen Lane

Currently, I am a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Birmingham, working towards completion of an EdD. I'm interested in how teachers and policy makers are using social media to discuss issues of education. Of particular interest is the connection between language and power, and how these interact in the age of online social networking.

I am also a full time teacher of English and ICT in a comprehensive school in Staffordshire. This is the best job in the world. Although I would like to try being a professional wine taster. Or an astronaut.

I have a mild obsession with Doctor Who. It is controllable, but I am prone to wearing long scarves.

Most importantly, I'm a husband and a father to two beautiful and hilarious little girls.
