Steve Hewitt is an Associate Professor in North American History at the University of Birmingham. He has published a number of books and articles related to security and intelligence, including terrorism and counter-terrorism, in the past and present.
His research interests include American, British, and Canadian security and intelligence in the past and present, including counter-terrorism, policing, spying and surveillance in the form of human intelligence through informers and undercover agents. He is also interested in the history of lone-actor terrorism. He also studies and teaches on Anti-Americanism and Canadian history and politics.
