Steven Lawrence Gordon is a Senior Research Specialist at Human Science Council of South Africa working in Democracy and Governance and Service Delivery research programme and is a member of the South African Social Attitudes Survey (SASAS) unit. He has a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His previous awarded degrees include a Master of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of Albert Ludwigs Freiburg and a Masters in Population Studies (cum laude) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Steven Gordon has published many peer-reviewed journal articles on public opinion and behaviour. An experienced researcher, his recent research concerns micro-econometric analysis using national attitudinal and household surveys. For the last five years, his main academic interested has been public attitudes towards international migration in South Africa and he is currently looking at xenophobic violence in the country.
