‎Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Human Sciences Research Council

Steven Lawrence Gordon is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Human Science Council of South Africa working in Democracy and Governance and Service Delivery research programme and is a member of the South African Social Attitudes Survey (SASAS) unit. He has a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His previous awarded degrees include a Master of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of Albert Ludwigs Freiburg and a Masters in Population Studies (cum laude) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Steven Gordon has published twelve peer-reviewed journal articles in a variety of different publications as well as six chapters published in peer-review books. An experienced researcher, his recent research concerns micro-econometric analysis using national attitudinal and household surveys. For the last five years, his main academic interested has been public attitudes towards international migration in South Africa and he is currently looking at xenophobic violence in the country.
