Currently leading the media, film and music production and journalism departments at York St John University (YSJU), following ten years as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader within Journalism at YSJU and Staffordshire University.

Specialising in digital and future journalism, in particular immersive and social media, with current research focused on Facebook within the public and civil sphere, and on the ethics of immersive journalism. Author 'Future Journalism: Where we are and where we're going' (2017)
