Susan Bradley Smith

Associate Professor Creative Writing, Curtin University

SUSAN BRADLEY SMITH has an Honours degree in History, a PhD in English, and is a graduate playwright of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts. An award-winning writer, teacher and historian, her specialisms include autoethnography, creative nonfiction, contemporary poetry, feminist cultural history, and the medical humanities. Since beginning her professional writing life as a rock journalist in Sydney and London she has worked as an academic in the UK, Australia, and Italy. Susan is the founder of the writing and wellbeing consultancy Milkwood Bibliotherapy; Artistic Director of Lennox Head Poetry Festival; Visiting Professor of Creative Writing at John Cabot University, Rome; and Associate Professor in Creative Writing at Curtin University, Australia, where she is Director of Graduate Research.
