A/Prof Susan Kinnear's interests include the nexus between sustainable regional development, regional policy, regional advantage, innovation and environmental management. As Dean of Graduate Studies, she is also interested in issues of education and research training in regional Australia.

Susan has successfully secured and managed contract research projects for clients across industry, the tertiary sector, and local, state and federal government. She currently co-supervises doctoral and masters students across a range of discipline areas, with examples including freshwater ecology, sustainability, regional development and education.

Susan holds a PhD in the experimental environmental sciences (aquatic toxicology), a B Science (Biology) (First Class Honours) and a B Environmental Science (with distinction). Susan was named the Queensland Young Achiever of the Year (Environment) in 2007.
