Susan Milner is Professor of European Politics and Society. Her research interests lie in the employment and social policy, with a particular interest in gender equality and work-family policy.

She was a member of a French team which analysed workplace gender equality plans and agreements. The full report was published in 2019.

She edited a special issue of Gender, Work & Organization on strategies to combat gender pay gaps, appearing in 2019.

She leads a GW4 research community investigating the impact of Covid-19 on women's employment and pay.

She is currently (2020-2022) engaged on a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship investigating policy on women and employment during the Labour years, with particular reference to the Women and Work Commission.

She sits on the academic advisory group of the national charity Working Lives.
