Senior Lecturer, School of Global Urban and Social Studies, Sustainability and Urban Planning Program, RMIT University

I am Senior Lecturer in the School of Global Urban and Social Studies and a member of the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University. I have worked for both the public and private sectors as an urban planning consultant, in the state government as a Project Manager on the Victorian State of Environment Report and as a research fellow in the Centre for Urban Research. My research has focused around urban planning and sustainability and the interconnections between the social, technical and governance changes required to improve our urban environments and social practices. I am working on a number of applied research projects looking at how to improve the planning and building system to achieve better ESD outcomes, climate change governance and planning with a focus on the role of local governments and other local actors. I have published in Sustainability, Australian Planner, Environmental Policy and Governance, Energy Policy and Urban Climate journals and have co-authored Planning Melbourne: Lessons for a Sustainable City (CSIRO Publishing 2016) and co-edited Local Action on Climate Change: Opportunities and Constraints (Routledge 2017).
