Suzanne Chambers

Director Menzies Health Institute, Griffith University

Professor Suzanne Chambers is Director of the Menzies Health Institute Queensland at Griffith University. She is an international leader in behavioural science in cancer with a focus on the specialty of psycho-oncology and cancer survivorship. Her significant contributions to the field include: modelling adjustment after cancer; designing and trialling remote access low intensity psychological interventions for people with cancer; integrating health economic modelling into trial design; targeting high psychological distress or need patient groups. In collaboration with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Griffith University, Cancer Council QLD and Edith Cowan University she established in 2012 the first Prostate Cancer Survivorship Research Centre that is in 2016 now NHMRC funded as a Centre of Research Excellence. She has published over 180 peer review studies as well as numerous reports, chapters and books. Her research is published in top international journals, as well as those that have relevance for communicating within the field. She has published in The Lancet and Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Psycho-Oncology.
